International

Again, the Working Class History folks knock it out of the park. This brilliant hat with the International Brigades symbol (from the Spanish Civil War) on it is most excellent. They have colors, but the camo was the non-wool. Ace.

Flat Cap

Scally cap, flat cap…dare I say…”driving cap”…whatever you call them they are pretty much on point.

Grey is the American Rag line from Macy’s. Black is from Target. Blue is Irish linen.

It Pays to Know an International Man of Mystery

As the title above relates, it DOES. What did I find in my mailbox today? Only a beautiful Boca away kit, sent from Brooklyn, via Buenos Aires. Club Atlético Boca Juniors is an Argentine sports (futball) club based in the La Boca neighborhood of Buenos Aires. It just so happens that my man, Agent 19, gets around. Pretty brilliant.

And it goes well with the toque that he got me from across the street from La Bombonera a couple years back. See below.

What did I learn today? It always pays to know an International Man of Mystery. That, and those South American XXLs fit like a dream.

Cold Weather Haberdashery

It gets cold and wet in December in my neck of the woods. This bucket hat from CP is just about perfect. It’s waterproof, looks classic, but updated, and has a proper WARM as can be fleece lining. CP runs a bit expensive for my wages, but I got this years ago from an online seller. It was worth it, as it looks like it did the day I got it and works just as well.

A friend at work said I looked like cross between Walter Mathua and Columbo when I wore this with a brown Barbour coat. That’s a greater compliment than I’ve been paid in ages.

NHL Tuque

Tuque, Bobble Hat, Stocking Hat…whatever you call them, I love them. These are 2 sweet Pens tuques that I acquired a few years back. Did I mention that I miss watching NHL hockey?

I Miss Hockey

I do. I really REALLY miss NHL hockey. Bettman is a jagoff. Below note my love for teams that don’t exist. I’m through and through a Pens fan…but I do have a soft spot for the Devils in the east, and the Sharks in the west. Also, take this as my official connection to the Nordique Nation. I love that they started making these in cotton.

Everybody Loves a Winner

It’s not easy to find Pirates gear for super cheap, now that they’re in first place.  Ahhh, capitalism.  Good thing I was a fan when nobody liked them.  That’s when I snagged this Pirates Atlernate Cap for about 5.99…non wool, made in the USA.  I LOVE that outline!

Bit of Haberdashery

I picked up this little bucket/fishing hat about a month ago.  Not too pricey and when I saw it, I was very into it.  I’ve been wearing this style of hat on and off since the early 1990s, so when I found this one (with a thin body, good vents with grommets, and sweet tartan band) I was in.  I’ve gotten a lot of wear out of this guy already.  Very nice!

Snowmageddon haberdashery find

I went on a bit of a walk on Monday.  It was clear, but still cold, so I layered well.  On the way to the store (only 2 1/2 miles from home) I had to stop and help some folks push a minivan out of the snow.  My layering was warm, and all the pushing and work allowed me to build up a bit of a sweat.  When I finally got to the shops I was pretty hot and my hat was soaked through.  So, I picked up this sweet Pens throwback cap.  A good 3 dollars spent!

VERY stoked on this one.  Nice and warm, too.

Cold Season Hat Find…

Target sometimes does some stuff really REALLY well.  Case in point, this hat:

Check out that pom!  Nice!

I really loved this thing.  My Missus saw it and decided I should have it.  I agree!

This picture is a bit square (a few CDs stuffed up there), but you get the idea.  Well done.  100% Acrylic and proper look.
